Studio 800 was founded in 2011 by a group of high school students attending San Dieguito Academy. The original plan for Studio 800, even before it was called “Studio 800”, and was known as “The Mosaic Retail Corner”, was to be an on campus, student run, helpful and attractive store where the business team sold products such as school supplies, spirit wear, and accessories attracting to the hobbies of the student body. In 2013, with a new group of business partners and new ideas, it was renamed “The Attic”, turning into a cut and sew attire thrift store that sold mostly women’s clothing the business team sewed themselves. In 2015 after a new group of partners took over they changed the ways back into more a school spirit based store and decided on a new, more meaningful, and soulful name that stands to this day, “Studio 800”. This name was derived from the location of the school itself, residing on 800 Santa Fe Drive. Keeping in mind the fact that people in our school cherish art, providing the base for the creative student wear store. Studio 800 flourished within the mosaic and attracted the student body, the school’s alumni, and the whole community of San Dieguito. As of the 2016-2017 school year, Studio 800 has grown into a bigger internet presence, selling off of the instagram and website.
